Spring 2013 Color Trends

What wonders does Spring 2013 hold? Lots!

Pantone has released it Spring 2013 Color Report, and Fashion mags across the board have published spring trend picks. All in all we have lots to get us started with our Spring Wardrobes...

According to Pantone Greens are the prevalent colors this spring including 3 shades in its 2013 color report.

From the brilliantly vibrant to the subtle and subdued green is expressive of what spring represents; nature, life, freshness, harmony, growth and well being.

Emerald, the most vibrant of the three leads the pack and is the focus of many creative professionals from apparel and accessories to makeup and jewelry. Also featured are Grayed Jade; a more subtle shade that promotes balance and relaxation, and Tender Shoots; a yellowish green that is energetic and playful.

Last season Tangerine ruled the runways, this season citrus tones are still represented with colors like Nectarine and Lemon Zest.

Other colors of the season include Linen, Poppy Red, African Violet, Dusk and Monaco Blue's.

Both Elle and Glamour have highlighted bold black and white geometric prints as hot this spring. Stripes, Blocks and Hounds Tooth are just a few of what to expect.

Leather is back. Yes, I said leather.... To many it may seem more like a fall fashion staple, but the fashion Gods say that it will reign this spring in rich tones and minimalistic shapes. I could definitely get behind the trend as an early spring choice when the weather is mild but still cool, but as the temps climb I would consider more comfort appropriate choices that won't sacrifice your savvy style sense.

Nobody knows better than me the discomfort that goes along with wearing that awesome looking little sequined ditty in your style arsenal.

Looks good, but itches like crazy! Lets not even get started on the messy glitter...

Go for an elegant beaded piece instead. It can be a headache to clean, and you may run the risk of losing a few here and there, but you'll look great! I promise....

One trend that I am personally excited about is the return of the sexy short suit! Not the "Daisy Duke" ensembles that overrun racks in the malls, but true grown woman sexy short suits... A tailored short and matching cropped blazer waiting to be styled however you like it best. As a fun day look, a sexy night look, or even a daring formal look.

Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Helmut Lang

Whatever you choose to stock your spring wardrobe with just remember that it's all about personal expression. So be as daring and creative as you please when mixing and matching this season.
